Mental Health & Trauma

A Pop-up Gathering with Catherine Doster

Join us for this gathering led by New City Fellows alum and counseling intern Catherine Doster exploring mental health and trauma to raise awareness, broaden perspectives, reduce stigma, provide better understanding about trauma and mental health, and support and promote mental health and well-being. This gathering will not only offer greater understanding and education, but also thoughtful engagement with how mental health and trauma-informed care are an integral part of the redemptive work of Christ.

This event is FREE, but registration is required.

About Catherine Doster

Catherine is an EMDR trained counseling intern at LifeCare Counseling & Coaching and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in trauma studies from Richmont Graduate University. She graduated from St. John’s College (Annapolis, MD) with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (South Hamilton, MA) with an M.A. in Theology.

Her journey into counseling has been eclectic; from ministry to marketing and editing, to higher education, to non-profit youth and community building. This gives her not only a versatile skill set, but also an extensive, compassionate, and sensitive understanding of the varied experiences and backgrounds that individuals bring into the counseling room. This journey has also yielded an integrative and holistic lens that understands and attends to the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual components of health and well-being.
