Equipping Professionals for Gospel-Shaped Work

Industry-specific communities where Christian professionals are equipped to steward God’s creation, serve the common good, and participate in the cultural, social, and spiritual renewal of Raleigh and the Triangle.

What Are New City Forums?

New City Forums are industry-specific communities where Christian professionals learn to integrate faith and work, meeting 1–3 times annually. They equip Christians to see their work as part of God’s mission while providing practical tools for workplace excellence and city renewal. The forums foster community and networking among Christian professionals throughout Raleigh, and they also offer fresh opportunities for Christian witness by engaging topics of shared interest between Christian and non-Christian professionals in a way that explores the good, true, and beautiful implications of the Gospel.

LAW & PUBLIC POLICY

Christians are called to “speak the truth in love”—to hold fast to what is good, and to be peacemakers. In our troubled and polarized times, this seems harder than ever to do. How can Christians become people who seek and uphold truth, maintaining deep conviction, and yet do so with humility, generosity, and civility? Perhaps some practice with like-hearted people and the coaching of an expert can help.

Fellows and friends of the Center are invited to a Disagreement Lab led by Dr. Jed Atkins, Director, Dean, and Professor at UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Civic Life & Leadership. The time will include discussion on the Christian roots of tolerance, and a guided practicum in which we learn and practice experientially how to disagree well with others charitably in conversation around tables.
